In a flash, images from the recent past enter your consciousness and for a brief moment you let yourself be taken by a surge of reminiscences.$pYou wouldn't be in this unreal place if it wasn't for Diridu - her heart pure, her skin peach, and her smile the taste of cherry. On your first seeing her in one of the green, sweet-aired valleys far below - can it have been only a few weeks ago? - you instantly knew she's the girl of your life and surmised your vagrant days would be over. Alas, you had to part from each other after a short period of bliss only; you can still remember her hot tears on that last night together, as she told you that she's committed to go on with her studies and that in order to do so she would have to go to a place far away - a place the whereabouts of which she wasn't allowed to share with you. You protested and said you would not think of parting from her; nevertheless, the next morning she had disappeared, with no further explanations and only leaving the trinket - the pendant of her necklace - behind. In spite of her abrupt departure, you've been convinced, deep inside, that reuniting with her is the only thing you want to do. Tracing her down has been rather laborious - only after weeks did you succeed in finding enough information to locate and reach the mysterious school she's attending. As no visitors are allowed, your only chance of reuniting with your sweetheart is to pass the examination.$pThe examiner coughs impatiently and, as suddenly as they appeared, these recollections dissolve like a cloud. You squeeze the trinket in your pocket gently one last time and try to focus on your present surroundings again. It's the round glass trinket that Diridu left you before parting from you. When all of them have landed, the men wrap the cloaks around themselves again, bow their heads briefly and leave the room. You extinguish the burning staff. $p"Excellent!" the examiner says. Now, you're ready to move on." $pHe points at the western doorway. There is no point in doing that. How?You hold the staff in the fire of one of the torches and soon enough its end catches fire.
